If you're in Arica you must visit this place, which, in my opinion is as important as el Morro de Arica. This thanks to its ancient past. You can get there by car or taxi as it is located at 12 kms from Arica.

Its a really nice place with the amazing view. It was the home for the one ancient civilization. Now is a museum. The enterance is free and its really well organized - there are notices everywhere and marked trails, everyone get the helmet also. If you are in Arica you have to know this place.

Peaceful yet majestatic path through the rocky coasline. Even first, very accesible part, leaves one with much pleasure. A must-see in Arica.

Great way to see the shore line. Well built walk ways, make it easy.

Wonderful outdoors hiking/climbing area (the climbing parts are optional). After you fill and sign a "I won't sue you if I get killed or injured" form at the entrance, they provide you with a helmet at the entrance as there's a lot of pointy rocks inside the caves, and also a high risk of falling rocks from the cliffs. But despite that unsettling start, the trail is actually quite secure if you use common sense, and the rock formations and caves are wondrous. To top it off, the signage in the trail is very well done and informative, the best we've seen in all of Chile so far.
