At present, the trade association has 100 member companies who are key market leaders, accounting for over 85% of the industry. Our mission is to continue consolidating the sector as an engine of economic and social development by enabling constant advances in innovation and sustainability. Some of the association’s fields of action are to promote the plastic industry, to represent its member companies in the discussion on public policy, to create a space for meeting, dialogue and training, to facilitate relations between different actors of the industry, to publicize up-to-date information on the sector, and to improve the image of plastic. Over the last few years, ASIPLA has focused its efforts on promoting recycling. Its contribution from the outset to the Law on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and the creation of different projects, such as specialized workshops and the publication of books, has enabled the association to become a benchmark on issues related to plastic residue management in Chile, and it will continue to work towards implementing a cultural revolution across the country that encourages citizens to act as agents of change in caring for the environment.
