Super cool museum containing a lot of artifacts explaining the culture and history of Chile. Not a large museum but there are quite a lot of large artifacts which I did enjoy such as the historical artillery used and even a full size carriage. There's also a cool VR spot to travel through time but I didn't get a chance to use it as the hours are slightly limited compared to the general museum. This museum does have FREE admission which is fantastic but I really wished they would have added even machine generated english translations to better serve international visitors.

I really liked it because it gives a good history of Chile except that it stops when Pinochet did the coup in 1973. Lots has happened since... And it was free. Signs were in Spanish only.

A fascinating museum in Santiago to learn more about the Spaniards in Chile. A great amount of history here and lovely things to see. A must when you're in Santiago.

Nice museum with free admission. Not huge, so a perfect break from afternoon sun and a great chance to learn about Chilean history

Well worth a visit. 2 levels. Tickets are free. No English though on descriptive signs. You can get an English brochure that summarises things at the ticket office on entry.

If you want to know more about the history of this country, you must come here to have a look. Originally the seat of the royal court and the Treasury, it was built in 1804-1807. The architect of the building, Juan goycolea, is a student of the cathedral architect, toescu. Free access.

Nice Museum showing the history of Chile - unfortunatly only in Spanish. Never the less the museum is located in a building with a very nice patio which is worth a bisit for itself.

An admirable characteristic of Santiago is the free entrance museums. At this one, you can learn more about Chile's history evolving State, Church and People. Better than lectures at University.
