Excellent. I live in Ñuñoa and used to rent cars when needed from Alamo in Avenida Bilbao, but after a truly dreadful experience there that ruined some visiting relatives' holiday, I looked for a local alternative and found Star Rental. Completely different -- you deal with the owner, who is totally responsive, friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend it.

I didn’t need to be nervous about renting a car from a small local car rental agency. For me renting from Star was a smart move. It is a small agency that is big on friendly and professional customer service. We just needed a car for the weekend but had to return it after hours on a Sunday night. Star had this covered with a building ‘concierge’ who opened the gate and accepted the key on behalf of Star at about 7:30PM. Gas was also an interesting experience. He took a picture of the gas gauge, then told me to bring it back with that much in the tank. It couldn’t have been easier! I don’t know if the owner spoke English because I brought along my daughter who translated for me but he sounded friendly and acted like someone accustomed to being fair and professional. I paid for our competitively priced economy sized car in cash, submitted my credit card for the deposit (enough to cover the insurance deductible) and we were done. On Monday the pending credit card deposit was removed, as expected. If you need a car while in Santiago, Chile go to Star Car Rental.
Great experience renting from star rental. The car was waiting for us at the airport when we arrived, automatic car in great condition. Very competitive prices compared to the big rental companies. Will definitely use them again!

I lived in Chile for eight years and have made many trips on various projects over the last 15 years. I've always rented from Star Rent a Car, from its earliest days. The cars and service have always been impeccable. Jorge Faunes knows how to treat his customers, often delivering the car right to the airport. A few times he has delivered the car to my residence, but I try not to abuse that kindness.
