I'm that it that it was once a crown jewel of the catholic church in Chile but today it appears to be in need of a lot of maintenance. The interior is not as grandioso as you might expect in a cathedral this size but it has a beautiful personality all it's own, none-the-less. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area but if you're looking for grandeur, head to plaza de armas and check out the Metropolitan catholic church there.

This senior citizen of Santiago churches makes up for grand splendour inside. We happened to stumble across it as it didn't appear as a google site but it was definitely worth making the effort to check it out. The walls are absolutely incredible with exposed stone that has been meticulously stacked to build this monument

Gorgeous Church. Pay attention to the details, the structure. The church is impressive in size as well as details around it. This is a legend in Santiago Chile. A Must Visit. Very clean... it gets busy with tourist.. best days to go is on Fridays and Saturdays
