Beautiful building inside and out. Have to make appointments to visit

Beautiful and full of important history, but I'm not sure when it's open for tours. I went for the "Día del patrimonio," and the guided tour was well worth the wait.

Lovely oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle that is Downtown Santiago. Its beautiful garden is open to the public; you only need to ask the guard posted outside to let you in.

We were in the former congres building during the día de patrimonio. All over the city government buildings were open to the public. This was a popular initiative as we saw many large queues around the city. Once inside, we were herded in large groups through the building, with an explanation in every significant area. It's a beautiful and impressive building, worth a visit.
