I do not want to sound as someone who do not appreciate the local culture, but this area has lost by far the real bohemian flavour of this district. The French Institute, the Arte contemporaneo Institute, the Lafourcade’s bookstore... those years are gone. Time where you lived a piece of an impressive cultural district. Today is a sad promenade, full of lost people trying to find art and culture.

Lovely plaza to walk around in Santiago, very historic. I would recommend taking the walking tour with La Bicicleta Verde to get some additional context as well.

A popular place with tourists, plenty of bars and restaurants around. Cheap jewelry sold by, supposedly, their creators in a semi organized market on the side walks.
