The Zoltner Consulting Group (ZCG) is a Santiago-based social enterprise dedicated to the creation and implementation of innovative initiatives using information and communication technologies (ICTs) to promote social inclusion and human and economic development. John Zoltner and his multi-disciplinary six-person staff work with public, non-governmental and private entities to design strategies, projects and methodologies that take advantage of the power of ICTs to empower individuals, organizations and communities. They also design, raise funds for, and manage innovative development projects involving ICTs on the national and regional levels in the Americas. Our clients are nonprofit organizations (DataDyne.org, InterConnection, techsoup.org), private corporations (Microsoft, Intel), national and local governments (subtel.cl, penalolen.cl, and the Peru Ministry of Health), academic institutions and other national and international institutions dedicated to supporting innovative initiatives in development processes, such as telecentre.org, and ATAccess.org and DICTUC (affiliated with the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile). Current ZCG projects include the implementation of the DatAgro project that an open source platform designed by Datadyne.org in order for farmers to use text messaging to access locally-relevant information that improves productivity – including market prices, local weather reports, agricultural information and news reports, the establishment of a social enterprise computer refurbisher and electronics recycler to provide access to very low cost computers for low income populations in Chile, and the creation of a business plan for the global telecentre.org Academy.
