We saw penguins, how could we not give it 5 stars? Tour was cancelled the first day due to weather but they got us in for the next day. Keep your plans flexible, this can happen any time! Well worth staying to go the next day though. Worth every penny.

Excellent tour to Los Pingüinos Natural Monument (Dec,2018).
Fantastic tour! We saw many whales, sea lions and birds. The glacier was a great sight, and the boat goes very close to the Glacier. It starts early at 4am, but getting up that early is so worth it since I got to see one of the best sunrises ever! While I've seen a humpback very close on a zodiac in Iceland, this marine national park houses so many whales. Everywhere you look, you see a whale spouting water! The crew was outstanding and very hospitable. Shout out to the great crew!
We took two phenomenal trips with Solo Expediciones: 1) the one many tourists to Punta Arenas do - Magellanic penguins of Isla Magdalena and seals and cormorants of Isla Marta. 2) Private condor watching tour. Both were outstanding. We recommend this company, and if you want to go off the beaten track, talk to the person in charge, Marcelo. He may suggest and put together an amazing itinerary, which will be an awesome value for an american wallet. We'll definitely come back.
Great tour company! My wife and I did the half day Isla Santa Magdalena (penguins) and Isla Marta (sea lions) tour, pre-booked online from the USA, but paid in person with credit card. The unexpected bonus was stopping on the way to the first island because a huge pod of Commerson’s dolphins showed up to play and swim all around the boat. We met at the office at 0630, took their bus to the dock, arrived at the island at 0900, walked around the circuit path for 1hr, then had some hot coffee on the boat while we went to Isla Marta. There we watched the sea lions snort and scream at each other from the boat for about 45m, and then returned to the dock (about 1hr). We were back in Punta Arenas around 1230. The guide was a very friendly and knowledgeable marine biologist, and the boat crew was friendly and capable.
Great experience! Went to see the penguins from Magdalena island. Start time was 6:30 - 12pm. Make sure to get there earlier as there is quite the lineup to pay for a ticket. Bus ride to the ferry is past the airport 30 mins with and extra 40-60 mins on the ferry. Went to see the penguins for an hour, then went to check out an island of sea lions we headed back to punta arenas. If your flight leaves a little later, you can definitely do this trip before heading over to the airport as you are very close by!
The website says the price CLP 74.000, the agencies says the price is CLP 74.000, but when you go and need to pay the ticket, you pay CLP 81.000 False advertising.
Everything ran very smoothly on the tour I took to Isla Magdalena. Transportation was all on time, there was never any moment that I felt like I was waiting around for nothing. Tour guide spoke good English and was very informative. I would recommend them to someone who wants to do some penguin watching.
