I teach English to foreigners and live in Chile. COINED was very disorganized and wasted four weeks of my time. I actually think my Spanish became worse and I am now more anxious with Spanish. Their methodology is very bad, it is mostly fill in the blank in a book with a conjugated verb. If a school could get buy on nice people with good marketing COINED would be fine, but it cannot. I switched to Bellevista Spanish School and after only 3 classes am much happier and have learned more. Teachers at COINED didn't use Spanish 100% of the time which is important nor was it encouraged in class, no instead often people were speaking Portuguese including the teacher. Now how can a new language learner not become confused between two languages and if we are allowed to have conversations in our native language how will we learn a new language? Answer from a language professor: you cannot and you will not learn with these methods. Very bad school with nice people.

I spent nearly 3 weeks at COINED Santiago. I had a very good experience. Here, in my opinion, are the strengths of the school: 1. For students from the US, Canada, or UK, this school is a great choice for serious students because few of the other students are native English speakers and there is virtually no English spoken between students, during breaks, etc. In other Spanish schools with many US students, it is tough to escape the English. Here there are many Brazilians, some Europeans, and some Japanese. It is a nice mix and really conducive to using only Spanish. 2. I thought the teaching here was good, and better than several other schools I have attended. As a teacher myself, I can be picky about this, but my classes here were pretty focused. I liked that the classes had a clear goal and curriculum for each week. I also liked that we had to make presentations. 3. The social activities at this school were lots of fun and helped me to learn more about Chile and Santiago. 4. Santiago is a very nice place to study Spanish. The city itself is fun with lots of interesting things to do and excellent public transportation. I felt very safe walking and taking public transportation even at night.

I loved everything about my experience at Coined, especially the fact that the teachers are enthusiastic and extremely competent at what they do. I was a little afraid that the classes would be too easy since I started at level C1, but luckily I was wrong: every day was a challenge and by the end of one month I left feeling much more confident about my Spanish and ready to take the DELE certificate. Another wonderful thing about this school is that every afternoon (and many evenings) there's an extra activity you can choose to participate in. Thanks to that I got to know many places in and around Santiago and it was also a great opportunity to meet and spend time with students from others classes. The whole staff was really friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. I recommend COINED to anyone who wants to improve their Spanish, learn about Chile's culture and make new friends. It's THE place to go!

I loved to study there! It's a very good building, the teachears are amazing and all the staff healpfull, friendly and very nice. If you want, all the days they have some extra activities like visit a museum or free tour. I would like to come back there.

I can't really tell anything about the school and its courses itself, because my plans changed short- term. But to our spontanious request during the weekend we received an incredibly fast and friendly answer.
